Projects and stages
Every project sits in one stage, so you and your team always know what comes next.
The stages are yours to change
Stages are how you and your team keep a project moving. Agenc starts you with sensible defaults, but they are only a starting point. You can rename them, reorder them, add your own or remove the ones you do not use, for every kind of project.
The default stages of a website
Out of the box, a website project moves through eight stages:
- Intake: turn the discovery call into a brief, a scope and a stack.
- Audit: understand the current site, its pages, content, SEO and design.
- Design: design the look and get your sign-off.
- Build: build the site on the chosen platform.
- Content: gather, write and check every page.
- SEO: keywords, meta and redirects for every page.
- Launch: check everything and put the site live.
- Care: keep the site updated, healthy and growing.
Other kinds of project, such as SEO or applications, start with stages of their own, and you can change those too.
Moving a project on
Your team keeps its work to the stage the project is in. When a stage is done, you move the project on from Home. The team never moves it for you.
The board
Each project has a task board with five columns:
- Proposed: work your team suggests, waiting for your approval.
- Up next: approved and ready to pick up.
- In progress: being worked on now.
- Needs review: finished work that needs your judgement.
- Done: finished and checked.
With autopilot on, the team picks up approved tasks by themselves. Anything you have asked to approve first still waits for you.

What each project keeps
Each project has its own brief, brand, files, tasks, threads and integrations. Switch between projects and the team picks up where it left off.
